How to: add BBM contact from a barcode

As we know, BlackBerry Messenger 5.o has several new features, one of them is the Quick Response Codes or the barcode. We’re going to show you how to add a contact by scanning the barcode.

First, Go to ‘add a contact‘ option from your BlackBerry Messenger, you’ll notice there are 3 new options. then select ‘Scan invitation barcode from another BlackBerry‘ and you’ll be directed to your device camera function, capture the barcode with your camera and it will automatically send a friend request to the owner of the barcode.

You may also save your barcode to your device memory or media card by selecting the ‘Save your invitation barcode image‘ then you can post it anywhere on your blog, web page, forums or to your social networking profile.
